Brock Parker has won the Borgata Fall Poker Open, after defeating a field of 644 entrants over four days to lift the title, and collect the $372,568 first place prize. With his latest victory in Atlantic City, the two-time WSOP bracelet winner now takes his live tournament earnings to an impressive $2,498,923.
The $2,500 buy-in event attracted a good sized field to create a prize pool worth $1.61 million. Amongst the notable pros cashing along the way was Brian Lemke (27th), Allen Kessler (20th), Matt Matros (15th) and Christian Harder (11th). By the time the tournament reached its last day, the final table was packed with top talent, including Scott Baumstein, Jeffrey Papola, Michael Esposito, Vinny Pahuja, Matt Stout and Ravi Raghavan.
However, after Raghavan exited in 8th ($42,672), Matt Stout in 7th ($56,637), Esposito in 6th ($70,602), followed by Papola in 5th ($85,344), and Pahuja in 4th ($107,067), three-handed play turned into a marathon session lasting for more than four hours.
Eventually, Patrick Chan was eliminated in 3rd ($131,895) after shoving his A-9 into the A-10 of Brock Parker, thus heralding in the heads-up phase of the competition between Parker and Scott Baumstein. The brief affair then quickly reached its conclusion with Baumstein moving-in on a nine-high flop, only to find Parker holding pocket kings. Subsequently, Scott Baumstein had to be content with a runner-up position worth $209,480, while Brock Parker was crowned the 2012 Borgata Fall Poker Open. Commenting on his victory, Parker said: “It was a really good final table. A lot of talented players.”
The final table payouts were as follows:
